The all-new Galaxy Z series opens a new chapter in foldables with three distinct experiences designed for Ultra productivity, immersive discovery and self-expression
Samsung has officially introduced its latest Galaxy Z series, unveiling what it calls its most complete foldable lineup yet. The new collection, consisting of the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold8, and Galaxy Z Flip8, reflects the company’s continued push to make foldable smartphones more accessible while offering devices that cater to different lifestyles and everyday needs.
This year’s lineup places a stronger emphasis on artificial intelligence, productivity, creativity, and personalization. With Galaxy AI integrated across all three devices, Samsung aims to deliver a more intuitive mobile experience—from helping users multitask more efficiently to making content creation and daily organization easier.
According to TM Roh, Chief Executive Officer and Head of Samsung Electronics’ Device eXperience (DX) Division, mobile devices are becoming increasingly personal as AI continues to evolve, allowing smartphones to better understand and adapt to each user’s habits and preferences.
Designed for users who enjoy entertainment and multitasking, the Galaxy Z Fold8 introduces a redesigned foldable experience that transitions naturally from quick interactions on the cover display to immersive viewing on its larger main screen. Samsung has refined the display ratios to make reading, streaming, gaming, and browsing feel more comfortable, while its lighter 201-gram body makes it the brand’s lightest Galaxy Z Fold to date.
The Fold8 also receives notable hardware upgrades, including dual 50MP cameras, a Snapdragon® 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform for Galaxy processor, a larger 4,800mAh battery, and Samsung’s new Flex Titanium display structure, which improves durability while reducing crease visibility over time. Outdoor visibility has likewise been enhanced through Vision Booster technology and a display capable of reaching up to 3,000 nits of brightness.
For professionals, creators, and power users, Samsung introduces the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, bringing the Ultra experience into a foldable form factor. Its expansive 8-inch display provides more room for multitasking, while a powerful 200MP main camera, new 50MP ultra-wide lens, enhanced Nightography, and support for 8K video recording cater to users who frequently create high-quality content on the go.
Powering the Fold8 Ultra is the Snapdragon® 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform for Galaxy paired with a larger 5,000mAh battery, faster 45W charging, and an upgraded cooling system to help maintain performance during intensive workloads. Despite these upgrades, Samsung has managed to make it its slimmest Galaxy Z Fold design yet.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Flip8 continues to appeal to users who value style and portability. Weighing just 180 grams, Samsung’s slimmest Flip device introduces a redesigned FlexWindow that allows users to access apps, notifications, AI tools, and everyday tasks directly from the cover screen without unfolding the device.
Photography also receives meaningful upgrades through a new 50MP camera powered by Samsung’s ProVisual Engine. The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold8, and Galaxy Z Flip8 are now available for pre-order in the Philippines until August 13.
