Filipino Travelers Get a Break as South Korea Extends Visa Fee Waiver for Group Tours

Filipino travelers heading to South Korea just scored some good news. The South Korean government has extended its visa processing fee waiver for short-term group tours — meaning no processing fee for eligible groups until June 30, 2026.

Under this policy, Filipinos traveling in organized group tours through accredited travel agencies can apply for the C-3-2 short-term group visa without paying the usual processing fee, which normally costs around 18,000 South Korean won (about ₱740) per person.

This extension applies not just to the Philippines but also benefits travelers from China, India, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Cambodia — all part of South Korea’s push to keep tourism strong and growing.

How It Works

To get the fee waiver:

  • You must be part of a group trip organized by a licensed travel agency;
  • The group visa application must be submitted together through the agency or at the Korean visa center in Manila.
  • Solo or individual tourist visas don’t qualify for the waiver.

Why It’s a Big Deal

Even though the fee might seem small, waiving it makes group travel cheaper and more attractive, especially for families, school trips, company tours, or vacation squads planning a K-drama-inspired getaway. Tour operators also say this helps boost bookings and supports travel businesses as global tourism continues to rebound.

Filipino groups thinking about a South Korea trip should coordinate with accredited travel agencies soon — the waiver is only valid if the visa is filed before June 30, 2026.
