JAECOO Philippines’ First Hybrid, the JAECOO J7 SHS Is Now Officially Range-Verified by AAP

JAECOO Philippines Demonstrates the J7 Super Hybrid System’s Fuel Efficiency, Achieving an Impressive 1,488.8 km in a Four-Day Run with Final Distance and Remaining Range

Manila, Philippines, March 4, 2025 –  JAECOO Philippines’ first hybrid offering, J7 SHS (Super Hybrid System) has officially been range-verified by the Automobile Association Philippines (AAP)  after driving 1,488.8 kilometers on a full tank of fuel and on a single full charge. This is a testament to JAECOO’s commitment to infusing its automotive engineering DNA to create sustainable mobility solutions for Filipino urban elites.

The Jaecoo J7 SHS (Super Hybrid System) delivers a powerful 340 horsepower and 525 Newton-meters of torque, achieving a global claimed range of up to 1,200 kilometers. Built for urban and long-distance travel, its 2,672mm wheelbase ensures a comfortable ride, while the Super Hybrid System offers electric-only driving for efficiency and a gasoline engine for extended range. Also featuring an advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS), the JAECOO J7 SHS caters to Filipino professionals seeking a blend of performance, sustainability, and individuality.

The Verification Test

The Efficiency Run was monitored by the AAP, the country’s biggest and most prestigious auto club. Due to the surge of fully electric and hybrid vehicles, the AAP range verification tests the efficiency of a vehicle’s fuel and energy consumption. While manufacturers typically select routes that favor flat and fuel-efficient conditions, JAECOO Philippines opted for a more challenging and realistic approach. Hence, the J7 SHS was tested across diverse terrains –including urban roads, highways, steep uphills, and descents – proving its efficiency in everyday driving scenarios.

Two J7 SHS units underwent the four-day-long verification range test. They ran on full tanks of fuel and fully charged batteries and hit speeds of 80-100 kph on highways and 40-60 kph on city and provincial roads. Following the Northern Loop Route, the vehicles took off in Biñan, Laguna in full EV mode. The vehicles then transitioned to using the hybrid mode while cruising through Ilocos Region, Cagayan, Aurora, and Nueva Ecija before arriving at a gasoline station along the Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway (TPLEX).

The units also faced intense road conditions, including climbing 200 kilometers of steep uphill and downhill routes – terrains typically avoided in eco runs due to increased fuel consumption. This makes the J7 SHS’s verified efficiency all the more remarkable, demonstrating that its fuel economy can easily withstand real-world conditions.

Throughout the efficiency activity, the J7 SHS consumed an average fuel consumption of 24.4 km/L. Notably, one unit achieved 1,488.8 km, while the other reached 1,480.1 km, highlighting its exceptional consistency in fuel efficiency. With remaining ranges of 44 km and 24 km, respectively, these figures prove the J7 SHS’s unparalleled off-road capabilities and reliability across diverse terrains.

“The J7 SHS’s AAP Verification Range highlights its superior range and performance in the world of hybrid models. This achievement amplifies our ongoing commitment to advancing sustainable automotive technologies aimed to improve the driving experience of modern drivers by setting new and world-class standards for hybrid vehicles,” said Marco Chen, OMODA and JAECOO Motor Philippines’ Country Director.

Interested buyers may inquire about the model via the social media pages of the dealerships in U.N. Avenue, Manila; Sta. Rosa, Laguna;  Alabang, Muntinlupa City; Marcos Highway, Pasig City. They may also check the model out at its first dealership store at the G-Mall,  Cebu City.
