Ayala Malls Vertis North has received the first-ever Certified Pet-Friendly seal from the Philippine Animal
Welfare Society (PAWS), a meaningful recognition of its dedication to creating safe, inclusive spaces for
people and their beloved companion animals.
The seal was unveiled on September 22 in a heartfelt ceremony led by Ayala Corporation Vice Chairman
Fernando Zobel de Ayala and PAWS Executive Director Atty. Anna Cabrera, celebrating a shared
commitment to animal welfare and community care. This certification reflects Ayala Malls’ dedication to
creating spaces where all pets are treated with kindness and respect.
“In our malls, animal welfare is more than a policy – it’s a reflection of who we are as a community. We
believe responsible pet ownership begins with kindness, and we strive to live that value every day. The
reality is, our country faces many challenges with abandoned dogs and cats, but we’re committed to
doing our part. When we treat pets as beloved family members – ensuring their safety, health, and
happiness – we create places that are vibrant, inclusive, and truly humane. Together, we’re building a
culture of care that benefits everyone,” says Ayala Corporation Vice Chairman Fernando Zobel de Ayala.
In addition to the mall-wide recognition, 19 food establishments within Ayala Malls Vertis North were
also awarded the Certified Pet-Friendly Seal, further reinforcing the mall’s commitment to welcoming
pet families.
Ayala Malls Vertis North is also a proud partner of KabaliCAT, supporting PAWS’ Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-
Return (TNVR) program for community cats. Through this collaboration, the mall not only provides pet-
friendly spaces but also contributes to humane and sustainable population management of stray
animals.
“The PAWS Pet-Friendly Seal is our way of honoring establishments that go the extra mile for companion
animals and their humans. This is what true pet-friendliness looks like—creating safe spaces while also
addressing animal welfare at the community level,” said PAWS Executive Director Atty. Anna Cabrera.
Ayala Malls’ commitment to animals goes beyond welfare. It is about recognizing pets as cherished
members of the family and the community. Regular pet adoption drives across Ayala Malls, including
U.P. Town Center, Alabang Town Center, and Ayala Malls Manila Bay, invite families to grow with new
furry companions while also giving rescued animals the love and care they deserve. Even Ayala Malls
Cinemas have embraced pet inclusivity, offering pet cinema screenings where pet parents can share
joyful movie moments with their fur babies. These initiatives reflect a heartfelt belief that pets are not
just welcome. They belong, and they help shape the memories made in our malls.
With this recognition, Ayala Malls reaffirms its role as a compassionate and inclusive space where every
member of the community, furry or not, is truly welcome.
