Nothing is scarier than bald spots on your head. Alopecia, which means hair loss, can affect just your scalp or your whole body, and it can be short-term or long-term. It could be because of heredity, hormonal changes, medical problems, or simply because you’re getting older. In general, men lose more hair than women do.
Here are some tips to protect your crowning glory from losing its strands.
Take some time out.
One of the main reasons for hair fall is stress. Make sure you treat yourself to sheer enjoyment once in a while. And don’t forget your keep up with your weekly manicure and pedicure too.
Eat well
A healthy diet is still one of the best ways to strengthen and nourish your hair. Eat lots of fruits and veggies, avoid processed foods, and try to eat a serving or two of protein with each serving.
Avoid tight-fitting caps and ponytails.
As these can cause poor circulation in your scalp, your hair will lose the vitality that causes slow growth. Rollers, scarves, and bands can also be damaging to the health of your hair. Don’t go overboard with the heat on your hair.
Gently brush or comb your hair
(Ideally 100 strokes each day) to help soften any hardened oils that may clog pores. Experts also advise that you keep your hair clean and use shampoo for people with oily hair to prevent the build-up of sebum.
Scalp Massage
Use your fingers to massage your scalp daily to increase circulation in your scalp. After a bath, dry your hair with a towel, then untangle your hair using a wide-tooth comb. Begin rubbing your head with your fingertips, starting at the front of your scalp and working your way back. Start with light pressure and increase as you go, going over your entire scalp
