Grab, MOVE IT Launch Typhoon Recovery Program

Following the severe flooding caused by the intensified southwest monsoon, Grab Philippines and MOVE IT are rolling out a large-scale relief effort to support affected drivers, riders, and communities across Luzon.

The initiative includes both immediate aid and longer-term recovery, with financial assistance, medical support, and relief coordination carried out in partnership with local government units and national agencies.

“At Grab, our role goes beyond connecting rides and services—it’s about showing up when it matters most,” says Ronald Roda, Grab Philippines’ Managing Director.

Among the key efforts:

  • Calamity Assistance for partners whose vehicles were damaged by flooding
  • Medical and Hospitalization Coverage in partnership with Cocolife
  • A Loan Repayment Holiday for eligible drivers in Metro Manila, Baguio, and Pampanga

Grab’s Emergency Response Unit has also been activated to provide on-ground support in coordination with emergency services.

Beyond helping partners, Grab has also reactivated its GrabBayanihan program, allowing users to convert GrabRewards points into donation vouchers for McDonald’s Kindness Kitchen and World Vision. With as little as 60 points, users can help provide food and assistance to displaced families.

Looking ahead, Grab is working closely with LGUs to support ongoing relief operations and clean-up drives. Their efforts reflect a broader commitment to community care, inclusive recovery, and national resilience.

“We see ourselves not just as a platform, but as a partner to the Filipino people,” Roda adds.

As many Filipinos begin the long road to recovery, Grab and MOVE IT’s efforts serve as a reminder that real support can come from the services we rely on every day.
